Born in San José, Costa Rica, Juan Carlos has deep roots across the country. His mother is from Liberia, the capital of Guanacaste, where he has spent over four decades living and vacationing, witnessing firsthand the evolution of the North Pacific region. On his father’s side, his family hails from Grecia, Alajuela, a top coffee region, where his family has a long tradition in coffee production and export. Inspired by this multigenerational heritage, Juan Carlos worked in the specialty coffee industry as a professional taster (cupper), developing a strong appreciation for quality and authenticity.
His career later took him to Playas del Coco, where he worked as a Property Manager before pursuing an MBA in Madrid, Spain. Time in Europe and travels through Brazil expanded his global outlook, which he brought back to Costa Rica when he settled in Guanacaste with his wife to raise their two boys.
With more than a decade of experience in real estate development and project management, Juan Carlos has successfully led multiple projects throughout the region. Today, he is fully committed to Guanacaste, guiding clients to the right opportunities, whether it’s a luxury home on the Gold Coast, a coffee farm in the Central Valley, or a prime piece of land for residential or commercial development.
