For today’s blog of our Get To Know Your Agent series, we bring you a woman whose love for her community and desire to share it with the world inspired her to become a real estate agent. Jen fell in love with Santa Teresa as a teenager, and as an adult, she loves welcoming people into the lifestyle she once dreamed of. Jen is not only a real estate agent in Santa Teresa, she is also the liaison who has helped expats adjust to their new lives in paradise. She is a dedicated mother and outstanding professional, but above all, she is another human being trying to be the best version of herself.

1. What Was Your Dream Job as a Child?
I always wanted to be a marine biologist as a kid, and I also wanted to be an architect growing up.
2. Why Did You Decide to Become a Real Estate Agent?
I really love the area where I live and consider myself a people person. I started thinking about real estate and helping people create a lifestyle they really wanted, just like the one I had. After 10 years working as a photographer full-time, I was starting to burn out and thought I might enjoy getting into real estate. Right as I was thinking this, I was approached with the opportunity to open a real estate office, and I took it as a sign! I never looked back.
3. What Do You Love Most About Being a Real Estate Agent?
I love helping people achieve their goals and join a community that I love. I love to show people the ins and outs of this very cool place that I call home.
4. What is the Biggest Challenge?
Deals here are hardly ever straightforward. There are always hurdles and obstacles that require creative solutions. I like challenges because, by overcoming these challenges and making things work out, the job becomes more rewarding. The hardest deals are always the most satisfying, too.
5. What is the Most Rewarding Aspect of Your Work?
The most rewarding part is helping people get to where they want to be. Both buyers and sellers. We are actively taking a role and helping people during big life moments and decisions; these clients end up becoming our friends. It's very cool.
6. What Do You Do in Your Free Time?
In my free time, I love to garden, spend time in the ocean, and spend time at the beach with my family.
7. If You Did Not Live in Costa Rica, Where Would You Want to Be?
If I didn’t live in Costa Rica, I would likely be at another tropical beach somewhere. I am definitely a beach girl at heart. Maybe somewhere in Hawaii or Indonesia.
8. What is Your Most Ambitious Goal in Life?
My most ambitious goal in life has been to constantly evolve to be a better person. For myself, for my family, for my clients, and my community.
