Let's start by knowing more about Mariel Gracia! When Mariel joined us in the middle of a pandemic, she showed us that nothing can stop her. Passionate, young, and with a keen sensibility for humanitarianism, Mariel’s availability and generosity make her an exceptionally good real estate agent, as well as a crucial part of our team. 1. What Was Your Dream Job as a Child?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a spy, because I loved solving problems and investigating everything. So, that was my dream job.
2. Why Did You Decide to Become a Real Estate Agent?
Since I was 12 I suffered from insomnia, and I remember staying up till 5 am seeing pages and pages of luxury homes. I would say, since then, I’ve had a passion for real estate and specifically luxury listings.
3. What Do You Love Most About Being a Real Estate Agent?
What I love the most is that I always say that “a house is like a life project” and, when you transmit that to the clients you are not just selling them a shirt or an article, you’re selling them a lifestyle and decades of their life, so I think that’s pretty special.
4. What is the Biggest Challenge?
I think I would say the biggest challenge is being persistent because it’s not easy to find a house, and I would also say, it’s trying to have the balance between a clientele relationship and a friend relationship because when you spend so much time with a person, they end up being like, friends, so... it’s having that combination of both factors.
5. What is the Most Rewarding Aspect of Your Work?
I’d say when you find a house your clients love, it’s just... personally it just gives me chills. When you see the glow in their eyes and when you that see the person has their breath taken away, for me that has no price at all. It’s breathtaking.
6. What Do You Do in Your Free Time?
I love traveling a lot, I love to go to polo events, and I do a lot of wine tasting. I would say those are my three top hobbies.
7. If You Did Not Live in Costa Rica, Where Would You Want to Be?
I would definitely live either in New Delhi, India, which I've already lived and it’s my favorite city and place in the world, or I would live in Monaco because they have no taxes.
8. What is Your Most Ambitious Goal in Life?
I would say my most ambitious goal in life would be to have an apartment in each of my favorite cities on each continent. I would also love to do a program of building schools in different countries so that we can outreach communities that need help because education is the foundation of a country.
